Dr. Kevin Skinner is senior pastor at aldea. His role includes providing key leadership in the shaping of aldea’s vision and ministry. Kevin is also a regular speaker on Sunday mornings where his teaching is practical and inspirational—sometimes even stellar.
Kevin has been married to Sylvia, his high-school sweetheart, for 29 years. Together they have three sons: David, Matthew, and Michael.
Kevin holds a Master of Divinity from Bethel Theological Seminary, as well as a Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Therapy from Denver Seminary. When not engaged in serious practices, he loves motorcycling and backpacking.
Beyond aldea, Kevin facilitates professional development training for Priority Management International.
Pastor Mark serves as the Director of Music and Arts for aldea. In this role, Mark provides a creative catalyst for the community’s Sunday morning gatherings. He is also engaged in crafting concerts, art shows, and other creative expressions within aldea. Mark has been a professional musician off and on for years, and is a talented singer/songwriter, guitar player and recording engineer.
Rob Curcio is the Executive Director of aldea. He is responsible for the daily operations of the community. Originally from New York, he decided to attend college in Arizona and graduated from NAU in 1990 with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. After marrying his college sweetheart Michelle, in 1995, they moved around the country for about a year, including stops in places like Athens, GA, Dothan, AL, and Lewiston, ID. They decided to settle in Tucson in 1998, where they quickly got started on raising a family. Mikayla, was born only 3 months after settling in and Nicolette was born 3 years later.
Some of Rob's passions are playing music, building bass guitars, hunting and fishing, and outdoor activities in general. You can usually find him on stage on Sunday morning groovin on the bass.
Youth Director Germar D. Townsend has worked with youth for over eight years and in church ministries for five year. His educational background encompasses music, film, law and policy. Since moving to Tucson, Germar has been impressed with the passion youth have for social justice, education and service.
When Germar isn't working with teens and tweens, he's playing basketball, writing music, making documentaries and competing in academic competitions.
Michelle Curcio is the Director of Children’s ministry at aldea. She has a great heart for kids and often thinks that “big” people don’t give them enough credit!
Michelle is passionate about creating an experience for children that is encouraging and loving—one that helps children feel meaningfully connected to God. She is in charge of putting together the lessons every week and likes to use materials from a variety of sources including websites, children's books, and curriculum.
Michelle encourages each person who is involved with aldea to find a way to support the teaching of children. We are always in need of volunteers and also do service projects that are supported by the entire church population. Michelle is married to Rob and mom to Nicolette and Mikayla . She also owns her own business as a pediatric physical therapist and provides therapy to children in a special education preschool. Her days are rarely boring!
